All the horses on the gourd were freehand sketches that I traced onto pyrography paper, then taped to the gourd, then woodburned right through the paper.
Bored with the summer? Why not try gourd art?
I'm making 100 free hats to be given to some people in San Luis Obispo, County, CA. For details see my article here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Knitted-Hat-Project Each hat will be my own original design.
I have so many creative ideas right now that I feel like my brain is boiling. I started a new circlet and finally figured out how to use up some copper insects I got at Surf Beads. I started going through some older bead bins and found a few necklaces 75% finished. I should get those done and into my Etsy store or gift pile or jewelry box or somewhere useful and out of my craft bins.
My friend sent me on a flannel buying errand today. His mom makes lap blankets to donate to the vet hospital. My goal to save money for the Gem Faire this weekend in Costa Mesa kind of flew out the window once I hit the fabric store. I managed to spend $37.00. Ack!
But at least one of the items was a book on jewelry making with wire and has many close-up how to photos that will really take my skills to the next level. Besides, I can take out some of my frustrations by hammering on wire.
So I hope to get paid before the Gem Faire because I still want to go. I wish I had someone to go with, but I'm going on a Friday and most people work or have kids. Fridays are the best because stuff isn't too picked over and I get in cheaper so bwahahahaha. http://www.gemfaire.com.
